ESCORPION FLORAL KNITTING
WORKSHOP
BY MARIADELA ARAUJO

Spring always invites us to bloom, including in how we understand creativity. At Escorpion, where the stitch is the common thread of our identity, this season takes on a special meaning: it's a time to explore new textures, to lighten structures, and to let ideas breathe as naturally as nature itself.

Under this premise, the Floral Knitting Workshop by Mariadela Araujo was born, a gathering where tradition and contemporaneity intertwine with the delicate nature of knitting. Mariadela, recognized as one of Spain’s leading textile designers, has developed a distinctive language through experimentation, reinterpreting ancestral techniques from a contemporary perspective. Her career, shaped by collaborations with international brands and platforms, as well as her presence at some of the most relevant creative events on the global stage, positions her as a key voice in the evolution of contemporary textile design.

On this occasion, from Escorpion we invited five creatives from the fashion industry: Sol Pardo, Edu García, Víctor Von Schwartz, Ulia Hashem, and Alla Mel’nikova, to take part in this unique experience. Guided by Mariadela Araujo, the participants immersed themselves in the world of knitting from a sensory and artistic perspective, creating personalized charms through different artisanal techniques. Knitwear, in its many textures, thicknesses, and materials, became the central element of the creative process.

More than a workshop, it was a space for connection between hands, material, and intuition. A way of reclaiming the value of process, of slow and mindful making, especially in a context where immediacy dominates. At Escorpion, where knitwear is not just a material but a form of expression, this experience reaffirms our commitment to craftsmanship understood as innovation. Because, like spring itself, knitwear also reinvents itself: it expands, transforms, and blossoms into new possibilities.
